Meeting Santa

Wow! This Christmas stuff is really really busy and exciting. First shopping, then decorating, treats every day and now this.

First we get to the park and there are these birds all over the place. They drove me nuts! They are worst than squirrels! They run AND swim AND fly! That’s crazy! They almost walk right up to you! Mom said they are called ducks. I wanted to get me a duck.

Ducks!

I spent yesterday meeting all kinds of dogs and their people. I was at the Santa Paws Walk  put on by the Big Dog Rescue of Tallahassee. It was so exciting I could not contain myself.

There were contests to enter. Mom said I would win the Worst Behaved Dog Contest but that was not a category. I was jumping and pulling to get to everyone. I did not have enough time to greet them all properly so I I had to act quickly and try and hit or jump on everyone I could. She has no sense of humor about these things sometimes. Everyone loved me.

I got to meet Santa. Which was nice but I was very eager to get his two nice assistants but everyone kept telling me to stay and sit with Santa. Who has time?

I forgot to ask him for a duck. Mom says he brings you whatever you ask for.

I ended up winning 3 trophies. Mom said she could not believe I won 3 trophies and not one of them was for Worst Behaved Dog. See what I mean? No sense of humor.

I won Happiest Holiday Voice after I let out a long low howl. A few sirens went by and I jumped on mommy’s lap. She held on to me and I let out a long howl. The longest howl I have ever done. Mom says I was scared but it just looked that way. I was warning those things, whatever they are, to back off. It worked. They left.

I also won first runner up for Biggest Holiday Smile and First prize for Cutest Face because…well…duh.

At the end we all took a walk with Santa around the lake. I got to walk with one of my friends I made earlier, Champ. Buttercup, the big dog with Santa, won a few trophies herself.

After all the fun and excitement it was nice to get into a nice warm van. It was freezing out there. Mom had to hang onto me at times to try and warm me up and protect me from the wind.

Next stop, Esposito’s Lawn and Garden Center to meet Santa…again.

I’m not so sue he is the same guy. Something didn’t seem right. This time he brought Mrs. Claus. I liked her. I was still so excited and couldn’t sit still. More people to greet and make happy. They loved me.

I was exhausted. I slept on the way home and when I got home.

Mom took this picture. She thinks it’s funny. For That she has a sense of humor.

I did wake up long enough to drive down our street and greet the donkeys.

What a day!

Christmas Presents

Apparently Christmas does have presents. It seems only for cats.

Arthur got his Christmas present early. It was a big box which Arthur liked…the box that is. He also liked helping mom put it together. He went nuts running all over it and scratching it and swatting at the dangling toys. It got me all excited watching him so I joined in and jumped at him and nipped.

IMG_3853 sml

Mom got mad and told me to let Arthur have his fun. So I ended up in my room. I don’t get it. She laughed when Arthur did it.

I had to sit and watch.

When it was all finished mom let me out.

She said Arthur got this particular present because of me.

IMG_3857 sml

I don’t know how she figures that.

Preparing for Christmas

Another part of this holiday, Christmas, is decorating. Now mom decorates for all the holidays. Halloween has a lot of decorations. That is nothing compared to Christmas. It takes her days to get it all ready. There are so many boxes dad can’t get around. I don’t mind so much. It’s just more stuff for me to sniff and chew on. Arthur, as always, helped with the decorating.

This time I got to help with the outside decorating.

How’s it look?

Staying outside all day decorating was fun but I’m still waiting to see if Christmas has any of the good stuff like Thanksgiving did….you’ve got it, treats!

Christmas Shopping

After Thanksgiving with all the eating and fun there is another holiday. It’s Christmas.

One of the first things involved is shopping. Shopping for plants, trees for inside the house (That’s right I said inside the house. Isn’t that great!), and of course, food.

First we stopped at Lowe’s. I have never been there. It is the biggest pet store I’ve been to yet but unfortunately, no treats. Just a bunch of plants and …stuff. Not even toys.

The people were real nice though. They all loved me, especially the ladies.

Next, the grocery store. I love the grocery store. The bags mom gets from there smell so wonderful. I help her unpack them when we get home. I don’t get to help her shop there. She won’t let me go in. I helped her put the bags in the van though and checked out the smells.

So far though, other than the indoor tree, Christmas isn’t doing much for me.

Mom says there is more to come.

I hope it involves lots of food and toys and balls.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s another holiday already!

Of course like all holidays it involves some decorating. This holiday doesn’t have many decorations so that’s good. It takes less time.

As usual Arthur helped with the decorating.

The morning of this holiday starts off with television. There was a parade on tv. Mom had it on while she was busy in the kitchen…for the food part of it all.

They call it the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. There were a few parts I found interesting. A lot of interesting noises coming from it…and then came the turkey!

IMG_3771 smlIMG_3774 sml

This holiday has a LOT of food. This holiday is for food. The house smelled great! Treats all day and food, food, food!

Of course we had to take pictures first. It was killing me standing still. I just kept thinking of the food. Let’s eat!

I don’t trust that cat.

Hope your Thanksgiving was as filling as mine.

Road Trip!

The night before we left on our long trip, and even though I did some of the driving, I wanted to be sure they were taking me. While mom was busy packing I stuffed myself into Arthur’s carrier.

IMG_3371 sml

It took a long time to get to the hotel. Boy, was I tired. I was so glad to eat and go to bed.

IMG_3425 sml

The next day we started our adventures. We went to see gramma. I got to see where she lives. She is far away. What a great house! I mostly stayed outside with mom and dad. The yard was great! Mom kept me on a leash because she said she did not trust me. I think I’ve been insulted.

The back yard was not all the way fenced in so I could go in the lake.

That’s right. I said lake. How cool is that!? It was so exciting sticking my paws in the water, then my face and then I would freak mom out and run around real fast. The whole time mom hung on to the leash screaming and trying to keep up. It was hilarious! I kept doing it over and over again.

There was a dog on the other side of the lake barking. I hadn’t found a way to get to him. I am NOT swimming all the way across the lake to say “hi”…I don’t think…

IMG_3491 sml

Then to really make it fun I started digging up the grass in the yard and rolling in the sand and dirt.

Mom got upset but I thought I looked and smelled great.

Mom was doing some yard work for gramma in the back yard. I ate sticks and grass and roots and dirt. Very relaxing.

Gramma has some strange pets. I flushed them out of her bushes and they flew around our heads and then landed back in the yard. Boy I wanted to chase them but mom wouldn’t let me. Mom doesn’t let me chase anyone! She said they are called Ibis.

IMG_3487 sml

I still think dogs are much better.

We had fun in gramma’s back yard for a couple of days but the third day mom said was for me.

First we went to Green K9. Mom had never been there before so we checked out the toys and treats.

I met some people. It was nice.

IMG_3471 sml

The next place mom said I was going to love. She wasn’t kidding!

We went to Piglet’s Pantry. I want to live there! I met lots and lots of really nice people. They all thought I was cute and beautiful. They loved me. There were toys and treats. Oh the treats! The really nice lady there, Carla, just loved me and I loved her. She kept giving me treats. Edson, the man behind the counter helping Stella (she’s the doggie who owns the bakery) gave me treats too! Mom said we were there to get some fresh baked goodies for my Birthday. I will be one whole year next month. We can’t get fresh baked treats where we live. Mom got me a Birthday “pupcake” and ice cream. I get to celebrate my Birthday early so my pupcake doesn’t go bad.

We also got me new goggles or “Doggles” to protect my eyes. They fit much better and are softer on my face. Carla helped me get the right size.

IMG_3475 sml

Don’t I look Boss?

I got to meet their nice doggie Stella. She is so lucky! She lives thee! She gets to pick out a cookie whenever she wants. I would be in the cookie case until I finished every last one!

I got a new toy too. I picked it out. I took off the hanger and walked away and got more treats.

After we visit all the nice people for a while we said goodbye to my new best friend Carla. Piglet’s Pantry is my newest bestest favoritest place on the planet!!!!!

Mom said the bakery was started years ago because of their dog Piglet. Leave it to a dog to come up with such a great idea!

We stopped in the park in Mount Dora for a while to relax with my stash. It is really nice here.

IMG_3479 sml

We went to gramma’s to celebrate her Birthday. I got to have some of my ice cream. Every night I have been glad to go back to the hotel and eat and sleep.

That night after all the shopping I was too excited to go to bed right away.

IMG_3519 sml

Arthur checked out the stash too. Mom got him stuff for his Birthday too. He is 5 this month.

Our last day we stopped by gramma’s again to have lunch and say goodbye. Mom and I had to drive daddy and Arthur home again.

IMG_3523 sml

What a trip! That was exciting. Now I have friends all over the place, even far away.

We have to go back.

Besides, I already ripped the stuffing out of my new toy.
