Meeting Santa

Wow! This Christmas stuff is really really busy and exciting. First shopping, then decorating, treats every day and now this.

First we get to the park and there are these birds all over the place. They drove me nuts! They are worst than squirrels! They run AND swim AND fly! That’s crazy! They almost walk right up to you! Mom said they are called ducks. I wanted to get me a duck.

Ducks!

I spent yesterday meeting all kinds of dogs and their people. I was at the Santa Paws Walk  put on by the Big Dog Rescue of Tallahassee. It was so exciting I could not contain myself.

There were contests to enter. Mom said I would win the Worst Behaved Dog Contest but that was not a category. I was jumping and pulling to get to everyone. I did not have enough time to greet them all properly so I I had to act quickly and try and hit or jump on everyone I could. She has no sense of humor about these things sometimes. Everyone loved me.

I got to meet Santa. Which was nice but I was very eager to get his two nice assistants but everyone kept telling me to stay and sit with Santa. Who has time?

I forgot to ask him for a duck. Mom says he brings you whatever you ask for.

I ended up winning 3 trophies. Mom said she could not believe I won 3 trophies and not one of them was for Worst Behaved Dog. See what I mean? No sense of humor.

I won Happiest Holiday Voice after I let out a long low howl. A few sirens went by and I jumped on mommy’s lap. She held on to me and I let out a long howl. The longest howl I have ever done. Mom says I was scared but it just looked that way. I was warning those things, whatever they are, to back off. It worked. They left.

I also won first runner up for Biggest Holiday Smile and First prize for Cutest Face because…well…duh.

At the end we all took a walk with Santa around the lake. I got to walk with one of my friends I made earlier, Champ. Buttercup, the big dog with Santa, won a few trophies herself.

After all the fun and excitement it was nice to get into a nice warm van. It was freezing out there. Mom had to hang onto me at times to try and warm me up and protect me from the wind.

Next stop, Esposito’s Lawn and Garden Center to meet Santa…again.

I’m not so sue he is the same guy. Something didn’t seem right. This time he brought Mrs. Claus. I liked her. I was still so excited and couldn’t sit still. More people to greet and make happy. They loved me.

I was exhausted. I slept on the way home and when I got home.

Mom took this picture. She thinks it’s funny. For That she has a sense of humor.

I did wake up long enough to drive down our street and greet the donkeys.

What a day!

Christmas Presents

Apparently Christmas does have presents. It seems only for cats.

Arthur got his Christmas present early. It was a big box which Arthur liked…the box that is. He also liked helping mom put it together. He went nuts running all over it and scratching it and swatting at the dangling toys. It got me all excited watching him so I joined in and jumped at him and nipped.

Mom got mad and told me to let Arthur have his fun. So I ended up in my room. I don’t get it. She laughed when Arthur did it.

I had to sit and watch.

When it was all finished mom let me out.

She said Arthur got this particular present because of me.

IMG_3857 sml

I don’t know how she figures that.

Preparing for Christmas

Another part of this holiday, Christmas, is decorating. Now mom decorates for all the holidays. Halloween has a lot of decorations. That is nothing compared to Christmas. It takes her days to get it all ready. There are so many boxes dad can’t get around. I don’t mind so much. It’s just more stuff for me to sniff and chew on. Arthur, as always, helped with the decorating.

This time I got to help with the outside decorating.

How’s it look?

Staying outside all day decorating was fun but I’m still waiting to see if Christmas has any of the good stuff like Thanksgiving did….you’ve got it, treats!

Christmas Shopping

After Thanksgiving with all the eating and fun there is another holiday. It’s Christmas.

One of the first things involved is shopping. Shopping for plants, trees for inside the house (That’s right I said inside the house. Isn’t that great!), and of course, food.

First we stopped at Lowe’s. I have never been there. It is the biggest pet store I’ve been to yet but unfortunately, no treats. Just a bunch of plants and …stuff. Not even toys.

The people were real nice though. They all loved me, especially the ladies.

Next, the grocery store. I love the grocery store. The bags mom gets from there smell so wonderful. I help her unpack them when we get home. I don’t get to help her shop there. She won’t let me go in. I helped her put the bags in the van though and checked out the smells.

So far though, other than the indoor tree, Christmas isn’t doing much for me.

Mom says there is more to come.

I hope it involves lots of food and toys and balls.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s another holiday already!

Of course like all holidays it involves some decorating. This holiday doesn’t have many decorations so that’s good. It takes less time.

As usual Arthur helped with the decorating.

The morning of this holiday starts off with television. There was a parade on tv. Mom had it on while she was busy in the kitchen…for the food part of it all.

They call it the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. There were a few parts I found interesting. A lot of interesting noises coming from it…and then came the turkey!

This holiday has a LOT of food. This holiday is for food. The house smelled great! Treats all day and food, food, food!

Of course we had to take pictures first. It was killing me standing still. I just kept thinking of the food. Let’s eat!

I don’t trust that cat.

Hope your Thanksgiving was as filling as mine.

Halloween!

Another great holiday! It’s incredible! All these special days with lots of toys and plenty of treats. Well, maybe not plenty. They could use a little more.

This holiday is celebrated at night with lights and spooky things. I didn’t find any of it spooky, just annoying.

Decorating was fun. As always Arthur helped. He loves helping to decorate. This time I helped too.

Mom preferred I help with the outside decorations. She kept getting mad because I would grab things inside and run off with them. I really loved helping with decorating outside. I would get so excited I would just keep running around the yard, circling mom. Sometimes I would freak her out and at full speed jump over some of the decorations. Now that was spooky..for mom. I loved it. You’d hear her shriek, hold her breath and then sigh. She clearly doesn’t realize what a professional I have become. I didn’t knock one thing over.

Then there were the pictures. I don’t mind pictures because I get treats, but the costume…I could have done without that. But a treat is a treat.

IMG_3611 sml

I didn’t do it.

Finally we got down to the good stuff…SURPRISES! Arthur and I dove right in.

There were treats and toys inside. Treats first, of course. Then the toys, but only after I am certain there are no more treats coming.

IMG_3668 sml

Then there were more treats..for me.

BOBBING FOR BONES!!!!

Oh NO! Not more pictures!

Someone take the camera away from this woman. She’s out of control.

I wish that stupid wolf would shut up.

By the end of the day Arthur and I were tired. Time to relax.

Mom loves getting pictures of Arthur with the Halloween decorations. She said Halloween is more of a cat’s holiday.

I think Arthur knows it.

Happy Halloween!

Oh and…
